Gavin is a innovation strategist, startup investor and advisor. He is the founder of the Disruptor’s Handbook – a strategy and innovation firm that helps organisations shift mindset, innovate products and transform. Gavin has worked at the intersection of marketing and technology for over 20 years for companies and clients including SAP, IBM, McDonald’s and PwC, has co-authored five books and is a regular speaker on marketing, technology, startups and innovation. He has been a mentor at Telstra’s Muru-D accelerator, FinTech incubator, Stone & Chalk, and serves as president of youth organisation, Vibewire where he helps grow social, business and tech startups.

Gavin has led new venture startups for organisations like PwC, developed digital strategy and execution for global brands on both the agency and client sides, and spent some time as an analyst in digital transformation for award winning analyst and advisory firm, Constellation Research.

Formerly, Gavin Heaton was the General Manager of AskU, the mobile-first survey platform that delivers better survey results, faster insights as well as social impact. Developed as a corporate startup in PwC’s new ventures team, Gavin applied the innovations principles of the Lean Startup to drive this as a corporate venture. AskU was awarded the Australian Business Award for Product Innovation and the AIIA iAwards for innovation in the Community category.

Based in Sydney, Australia, he has extensive international experience in driving measurable outcomes via digital customer experience platforms, digital strategy and executing innovative content driven campaigns. With a background in enterprise technology innovation, digital strategy and customer engagement, Gavin connects the dots between disruptive technologies, enterprise governance and business leaders.
